Proteins
Bread provides vegetable proteins from grains. Flour is packed with a protein called gluten.

Vitamins and minerals
Bread is a good source of vitamins from the B group (B1, B2, and B6 needed for absorption of carbo-hydrates, proteins and fats among other things) and minerals such as phosphorous, magnesium and potassium.

Fibre
Whole meal and grain varieties are the most rich in fibre.
